East Longmeadow Assessors Issue Over 15,000 Motor Vehicle Excise Bills

EAST LONGMEADOW — February 25, 2026 — East Longmeadow Board of Assessors approves $2.3 million motor vehicle excise commitment and announces spring cyclical inspections. The board, chaired by Martin Grudgen and meeting February 25 at 382 North Main Street, signed off on a first 2026 motor vehicle excise commitment of $2,276,564.44 covering more than 15,000 bills, along with a seventh 2025 commitment of $14,632.76 issued February 10 and due March 12. Director Keri-Ann Wenzel announced that cyclical property inspections — required by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue at least once per decade — will begin mid-March following notifications mailed in early March and are expected to run three months. Business owners face a March 2 deadline for personal property forms of list, with a $5,000 asset threshold below which no tax is assessed. The office also welcomed a new administrative assistant, Christopher Quinn, a former town recreation department employee with a real estate and brokerage license.
