East Longmeadow School Committee approves DC trip and $5,000 in grants as new high school settles in. Meeting 3-0 with only three of five members present, the committee approved an eighth grade Washington, D.C. trip for May 12-14, 2027, accepted a $1,000 Bay State Games donation for the ELHS Athletic Department and a $4,000 Connecting Activities Grant, and approved a nine-advertisement football sponsorship request after member Sarah Truoiolo pressed on whether it covered high school games: "So then we don't, do we not know, then, if this is for high school?" Assistant Superintendent for Business Pamela Blair told the committee the district's central office has now moved into the new high school, with a public open house set for October 17 and a natatorium open house for November 14 after the pool was filled last week.
